Mens A Report
Following on from a hugely impressive win away at Wiltshire confidence was high going in to this home fixture against Oxfordshire. Our record against them in recent years only added to the expectation of a comfortable win. However, as we all know, County Pool matches are never that straightforward and this was going to prove to be a hard fought contest.
Some missed chances early on cost us, and Oxford took advantage to establish an early lead. Thankfully the big guns started firing with Rich Mallard, Malc Bishop and The Welsh Wizard all taking out impressive clearances to leave us with a 6-5 lead from the first leg.... (Read More)

Match Reports v Wiltshire 11th March
Mens A Report:
Despite the poor performance against Bucks in our opening match, and even with two key players missing, confidence was high going in to this tough away fixture. With the undoubted quality in the side it was only a matter of time before it all clicked and today was the day.

Mens A
Confidence was high going in to the first match of the new season, and on paper the team looked really strong with a good mix of experience and youth with a couple of internationals thrown in for good measure. Sadly pool matches aren’t played on paper!
As always, getting off to a good start is vital and unfortunately we struggled early on. The first 4 frames were shared before a solid Bucks side ran away with the leg to lead 9-2. The second leg started well, the spirit in the team was good and we rallied well to come back to 9-7. The comeback was well and truly on until a combination of missed chances and poor run of the ball led to us only winning the leg 6-5.
It was 14-8 at halfway so a good start to the third leg was vital. Sadly our run of missed chances continued throughout the third leg, and indeed the rest of the match, and we were made to pay. Bucks are a good side and they took their chances well and made the most of the run of the ball running out comfortable 29-15 winners in the end.
All in all, a disappointing start to the season, with a few of our big guns not firing on all cylinders on the day. However, there is a huge amount of quality in the side and it is only a matter of time before the results start to go our way, starting with Wiltshire in a couple of weeks!
A special mention goes to Martin Ray. A top quality performance, winning all 4 of his frames with great clearances. Well played Martin.......

Ladies Match Report v Oxon
Re-arranged games against Oxfordshire played at home on Sunday 30th October 2011
Well at long last we managed to play the rearranged games against Oxford. We played the away game first which started as we normally do with a terrible first leg losing 6-5, then went onto win the 2nd leg 5-6, which gave us a boost.

British Lions Down Under
Australia, desperate to gain bragging rights on their own tables, started the series well with a 16-8 win thanks to fine play by WEPF World Championship semi-finalist, Ben Nunan, and singles winner, Steve Woods.
But with jet lag starting to clear from their systems, the Lions hit back to draw the second Test 12-all.

Match Reports v Northants 23rd Oct
Ladies
Well can I start by saying what a great match we had against the Northants Ladies. We started off well on the first leg winning the first 3 games and then it all went a bit wrong and we went on to lose the next 4, but came back at the end to win the leg 6-5.
